artist - instructor - therapist in training
Sasha Davis is a painter and book artist based in Mishawaka, Indiana. Her work explores nature, emotion, and the healing experience of creating. Inspired by landscapes, memories, dreams, and the natural world, Sasha creates paintings and handmade books that feel somewhere between familiar and imagined.
Originally trained in sculpture, Sasha has always been drawn to the physical side of creating. She works intuitively, building up layers of color, texture, movement, and organic forms while experimenting with materials and figuring things out as she goes. Her sculptural background continues to influence both her painting and book arts practice, especially in her love of artwork that looks touchable. Even when working on a flat surface, she wants the materials to feel present and the artistic process to remain visible in the finished piece.
Sasha earned her BA in Studio Art from Saint Mary's College. Outside of her studio practice, she works as a Systems Administrator and teaches art classes. Teaching has become one of her favorite parts of her creative life. It gives her the chance to share not only artistic skills, but the joy, curiosity, and sense of accomplishment that can come from making something with your own hands. At the heart of Sasha's work is a belief that creativity can be a meaningful space for healing, self-discovery, and connection.
